Recently, the Second ICAO (The International Civil Aviation Organization) Global Air Cargo Development Forum was held in the conference hall of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), in Ethiopia's capital Addis Ababa. The main theme of this forum is “To Act for the Sustainable Air Cargo Development in Africa”. More than 400 senior representatives from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the World Customs Organization (WCO), International Air Transport Association (IATA), The International Air Cargo Association (TIACA), African Airlines Association (AFRAA), and other international organizations and industry associations participated the forum.
At this global event, Ethiopian Airlines held a grand celebration ceremony for the newly built cargo terminal(Phase II), showed the guests Africa's largest and most modern air cargo terminal. The new terminal covers an area of 40,000 square meters, with the abilities of automatic sorting, automatic pickup and automatic loading, in addition to a cargo handling capacity of 600,000 tons. It makes Ethiopian Airlines become the airline company with the ability to handle one million tons of cargo per year, and Addis Ababa the largest airport in Africa.
As one of the major members in Africa's air freight market and the strategic partner of Ethiopian Airlines, Transsion received the invitation from the host of the forum, Ethiopian Airlines (ET). Head of Logistics, Leon Liang, attended the forum and Ethiopian Airlines’ opening ceremony of the new terminal on behalf of Transsion.

Leon Liang delivered a warm speech at the welcoming luncheon of the Ethiopian Airlines’ new terminal’s opening ceremony. He introduced Transsion’s business lines and its development strategy in Africa. Meanwhile, he congratulated Ethiopian Airlines’ on its new cargo terminal completion and the great success in recent years. He also wished that with the help of the“One Belt One Road” initiative introduced by the Chinese government, the strategic cooperation between Transsion and Ethiopian Airlines will be further strengthened, and become a model of China-Africa business cooperation in African air cargo market development as well as African economic development.

During the event, Leon Liang has met the management team of Ethiopian Airlines, officials from Ethiopia General Administration of Customs, Minister of Ethiopia’s communication and Information Technology, Minister of Transportation, Togo as well as leading freight carriers and logistics companies in Africa such as Astral Aviation, DHL Global Forwarding and Aramex. This series of meetings has further increased the fame of Transsion in Africa, at the same time, enlarged its logistics business network in Africa.
